Attachments will not open in Outlook Express
- Open Outlook Express
- Click Tools on the main menu
- Click Options
- Click the Security tab
- Uncheck the box beside "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened
that could potentially be a virus"
- Click Apply then OK.
- Attachments should now open in Outlook Express
Outlook Express is slow to open
- First-Compact your folders
- Open Outlook Express and click on Tools on the main menu
- Click on Options
- Click on the Maintenance tab
- Click Clean Up Now
- Click Compact
- Second-Delete all e-mails in all your folders that you do not need
- Third-Find and delete the Folders.dbx file
Outlook Express will not verify your username or password to login to mail
account
- Verify your username and password are entered correctly in your account
- Open Outlook Express and click on Tools on the main menu
- Click on Accounts then mail
- Your email account should be listed in the window. Click on your
account 1 time then click on Properties to the right
- Now click on the Server tab
- Your username and password should be listed at the bottom of the server
tab. Be sure your username is all lowercase and does not include
the @irvineonline.net. Reenter your password to be sure it is accurate.
- If you are still unable to access the mail server, call 723-4240 or
723-3668 for further assistance.
Part of your email messages will not download to your computer.
- Irvine Online currently has a 3 meg limit on the size for email messages.
If someone sends a message to your account that is over that file size, your
email account may become hung and you will be unable to download all messages.
Contact Irvine Online to delete the message that is hanging your account.
